don't mean to pee on your parade here or anything, but the citizenship test is a joke. All the questions are either common knowledge or current affairs. My wife's 89 year old grandmother passed the test on her first try and she barely speaks any english at all.

lol yah i know it's a joke, didn't you see the sample questions I posted heh?

it's still a good accomplishment though, and I know she's pretty excited 🙂

i wasn't worried for 1 second that she would fail, neither was she, especially after I was quizzing her on all 100 sample questions.

Oh yah and if people didnt know, they give you a pool of 100 sample questions, and they pick 10 from the pool. so if you know all 100 questions, you have no chance in failing.

My interviewer asked me about United Nations and I knew more about UN than she did. She asked the role of UN but didn't know the UN headquarter was in NY

It is easy for us but you will be surprise of how hard those tests are for other folks, even the native born Americans. I showed my test for my co workers <native born American> and over half of them didn't know the answers.

congrats to her. This reminds me, I gotta apply for my citizenship. My green card expires nov. 07. Do you know how long it was between the time she applied and today?

I asked her when she initiated it. She said in November. So it was about 5 months, which is actually quicker than she expected it to be.
