Last night I was helping her study for it. It was a pool of like 100 questions that are very basic questions about the USA. I personally didn't know probably 20 of them off the top of my head, but they were the kind of questions that once you saw the answer, you would remember it for good.

That's how it was for her too. She made some flash cards and basically knew all of them by the time she was done making the flash cards.

Well she just passed her test and gets sworn in today at 3:30. Too bad I have to work and won't be there for it 🙁 but I'm proud of her.

And don't worry, I know the rules ... she's the one in the middle.

She told me 3 of the questions she was asked ...

How long is a member of the House of Representative's term?
Who was the president during the civil war?
Who is the governor of your state?

It's those kinds of questions that she was asked heh. She speaks perfect english, with a strong accent, but she still had to take the test.

and LOL @ MisterJackson 😛. With a name like tha, i would think you wouldn't even hit that since she's not a 10 year old boy 😛
 
awesome, congrats but If I were you I'd skip work (or just get out a little bit early and make it up later in the week )since this is probably a very important moment in her life. 😎

That was well before Jacko went totally whacko.

Props to your girl though. She probably knows more American history than 90% of the peeps here.

Nicaragua. She came here when she was 13. She's 22 now. Her residence card expires in May as well, but now she doesn't have to worry bout that 🙂

I can't ... I carpool with someone 🙁

But she knows that and she understands that I can't just hop up and go right now. Hopefully her brother goes to atleast snap some photos. I have no idea what the swearing in is like.

ditch the other dude and go! :evil: I have been to my aunt's swearing. It was pretty cool actually, I can guarantee you that these people value the fact of being an American more than most of the people who were born here. Congrats to her again! and you'd better celebrate with her after work 😀

I think many Americans would have trouble with 4 of those. Heck I can't tell you who the two senators from my state are, especially since one of them just became the governor.
