The only Motorola Modem I see is the SB4200. Did you mistakenly post it as SB4220, or do you know that it is actually a 4220, or what?

Alright, I thought I was doing something wrong because I couldn't find the 4220 :)

Still a good deal, thanks!

How is this compared to Toshiba PCX2200? I bought this modem since I moved, and were using a Motorola before. The new setup sucks so much, but I don't know what's the weakest link. I would guess it is the cabling in and around the building since it is an older building...but could it just because of the Toshiba cable modem?

Should I try getting a new modem and see if anything will improve? Or not likely it is the cable modem?

The SB4200 is going to get old...

The new Motorola SB5100 is coming out and it is DOCSIS 2.0.

I don't know if I should get an Linksys cable modem (DOCSIS 1.0) at OD for $30, or I should jump to SB5100 for $64 (+$10 shipping).

How are cable modems differ from each other?

That probably explains why I saw a bunch of SB4200s on the clearance table (50% off) at Circuit City.

I believe it's better upstream... What I want to know is if it's backwards compatible... I assume it is...

Seems like a better deal to spend the extra $20 and get the new 5000 series modem... Plus no rebate hassle...

Personally, I'd stick with the 4220 or 4200 for now. My cable company (insightBB) only recommends the 4200/4100 so far. They do massive testing, and the 4220/5100 haven't gone through yet.

Good deal if it weren't permanently backordered.

How do I find out if this will work with my cable service?

My service is Charter Pipeline in Los Angeles CA
The modem I'm renting from them is Surfboard SB3100 Cabel Modem.

Should I just call them and ask?
