I'm in Korea studying abroad. When I came in August, I weighed around 310lbs, down slightly from my heaviest of 316. Korean food is okay I guess, but what they try to pass off in the cafeteria here just isn't edible. I sold my meal plan to somebody else and have been using the opportunity of being surrounded by unappetizing food to lose weight by eating less. I've been eating very little, I've been shooting for just enough to get enough vitamins, etc, cause I've heard that not eating anything is super bad for you. I'm living in a dorm, and I don't have access to a scale regularly. I just walked into my friend's room and saw that his roommate has a scale, so I weighed myself. I had to check again after I converted from kg to pounds, I almost didn't believe it. I was 130.5 kg, which is about 287 pounds. I thought I might be under 300, but I didn't think I'd have lost that much! Definitely a good start to getting down to a healthy weight. After far too long of telling myself that I'd lose weight sometime 'soon', I'm finally getting there.

:D

I'm 6'2, have a very large frame (finger/thumb around wrist test leaves 5/8" gap).

Eff cardiovascular health at our weight (I, as of my last weighing was at 299lbs). And by cardiovascular health I mean ability to run any sort of distance. I keep my heart rate up constantly while lifting, which is fantastic. You need to add heavy resistance training with adequate protein consumption to make sure you're not losing or rather to prevent as much muscle mass loss as possible. I've lost 24 lbs but my strength gains have been simply awesome and I can't see (doesn't mean there isn't any, it just isn't near as obvious as the fat loss) any signs of muscle loss. Some of my muscles have gotten visibly larger, mostly triceps.

If you go calorie deficient without heavy resistance training, you're going to lose a lot of muscle mass. This method CAN be effective, but as long as you realize you're going to need to lift heavy after you lose the weight to build back up to a respectable lean body mass for your given weight. If you don't, you're gonna suffer a horrible BMR.

actually right way.
no ammount of exercise can burn off a meal.
simply reducing calorie inake is the key.

However OP make sure you don't go to low on the protien consumption other wise your body is gonna lose a lot of muscle mass.
