I ordered some software and got it a couple of days ago. They obviously had a glitch in their system and sent me an order meant for someone else. A nice new 52x24x52 CDRW and a 16X DVD player with oodles of software!! :p

The package was addressed to me but the orderslip inside shows someone in Indiana, who is now wonderering WTF happened to their order.

I have tried calling us-depot.com and wasn't able to get through to a live person for the last 5 hours.

Hmmm....maybe I should be posting this is the FS/FT forum! :p

Update******************************************7/14/2003****************************************************************

OK...now I am considering the possibility of just keeping the schtuff. Last week I called the company repeatedly (sale, RMA, etc.) and never got an answer. So I left a message in the general mailbox explaining that I had received product meant for someone else, and asked that my call be returned and I left my work and home phone number.

I also emailed the person that this stuff was supposed to go to. I explained what had happened and asked that person to email me (I also called that person twice but no answer).

5 days later I still have no response :(

What he could do is look up the guy's phone number via Verizon.com, call him, pay the guy who it was supposed to go to something like $10 for it in exchange for the guy to keep his mouth shut about it and call the store to bitch that he didn't get his yet.

:D

Of course he's not obligated. But by definition the "right thing" is the correct thing to do.

And why is screwing a store ok?

ROFL......now that is a great idea.

I have already left a phone message and an email for the person it was supposed to go to asking them what they want me to do (ship it to them or return it to the store).

Odds are that guy is already doing it. Well since the store obviously doesn't want to talk to you (you tried calling them), the only thing left for you to do is keep it or sell it.

Well, I wasn't in Indiana six months ago, and I don't know a Pamela.
