Yes I am feelling rather pleased with myself now😀

My allowance was £10 a week and now its £15. This compares to when I USE to get £1 a week then it went up to £5 and then to £10 and now £15. I am 18 now btw. Will be going to Uni this year. I also work at my parents shop also.

I buy all of my clothes/trainers/and everything else that is not to do with my *education*. My parents pay for everything to do with my education........

How much did you guys get?

I'm 15 and get nadda. In the U.S., we have to work for our money:frown:

J/K, quite a few of my friends get allowances too.

Yes I do. I also work though. I pay for everything that it not to do with Education. When I go out, my gym fees, etc etc. I pay for my own lunches or make it from home. So no dinner money. My mates get dinner money though and money for clothes.........

its £1 - $1.39 or there abouts.

So I get $20.85 a week.
 
Hrm, I've never been given an allowance in my life. Before I worked, I only had money after Christmas and after my birthday. Now that I work, I make around $600-800 USD a month. I'm 18 yrs old and have been working at this particular place (a bank) since last summer.

Then, of course, I blow most of this every month. Between vehicle payments, insurance, and the things I want, I don't have much to save.
 
my mom still gives me $20 a week, eventho Im senior and go home after 5th hour. She says its for lunch.

Either way Im like bling bling thx mom.

She r nice. She still makes my bed..lol 😱

nope. I work for the family business. I don't get money for school dinners. I pay for it myself. And they don't dress me or clean my room. I hoover the house 2x a week and do the dishes..........

Seems fair. Hell, I'd pay my kid $20 bucks to hoover me twice a week AND do the dishes! :Q

one of my friends had a british guy come over and spend a few weeks with him last summer. It was amazing how much different things were in England and in the US, even thought we speak the same language....

Yes I live in England so I am use to saying *hoover* instead of *vacuum* the house.

I *also* work guys. In England most if not all people get pocket money......
 
damn, i never got an allowance when i lived w/ my parents...had my first job at 15, been workin ever since (20 now)

I used to know a guy who got paid for grades. His report card- 1 A, 2 B's, 2 C's, 1 F- his reward? $50. My report card- Straight A's. My reward- "why'd you get a 95 on this exam?"

again I say wtf. wish i had parents throw money at me...🙁

ALLOWANCE? LMAO.. I think I stopped getting allowance around 10 yrs old and even then it was only 2 bucks a week or something like that. Yes, my parents are cheapskates.. 😉

btw, I go to college and live with my parents (live in Canada, college don't have dorms for the most part), and I pay for all my personal stuff including college (heavily subsidized by the federal and provincial governments so I don't have to pay all that much), but they pay for food and rent. Not a bad deal...
 
DUDE! $21 bucks a WEEK?
I get 5, but I guess I'm lucky since it was at $0 since whenever 'till about 5th or 6th grade, when it went to $1/week. Since about last year, I've been gettin $5 a week! 😀
