SWEEEET! Remember the other day when I posted about the shop I manage getting broken in to?

Well first of all, they didn't get my snap-on tools or my snap-on tool boxes! 🙂

And today we actually got one of the bikes BACK. The most expensive (@ $3,500) and the only one we couldn't replace!

The story goes, some friends of one of the guys I work with saw some guy at a skate park ridding it and took it back. (Though I'm inclined to believe HE and his friends actually did the break in and because the bike ended up in the news as having been stolen and the fact that it's a somewhat rare bike, they decided to "return" it. They are pretty shady types....) The owner told them she would give them $50 for their efforts. (To which one of them said "$50??!! We could have sold it for a LOT more than that!" and "We should have taken the shock of before we returned it."

Well, at least we got it back. And given the fact that THAT bike was still in the area, chances are very good the others are too, and we WILL be on the look-out for THEM! 🙂

thats a beast of a bike, some dude was just rideing it around? sure.......

anyway glad you got that back, hopefully you can get the others as well, check ebay and post on MTBR about it as well,

Well I started buying them when I worked as a auto Mech. They ARE good tools. They DO work on all kinds of stuff too, you know. 😉😛

Yes, but you know somethings wrong when your tools are worth more then what your fixing!!!
It would be like using a Ferarri to get groceries. Yes, you CAN do it, but WHY. Although you explained it so....

I honestly can't figure out why someone would buy a bike worth $3500. It does look cool, but what makes it so much more special then some $200 bike?

Worth it for someone who's an enthusiast, I guess. I wouldn't even spend $200 😛

Always glad to hear good news

I know lots of people who spend $3500 on a bike. Plus extra for the clothes, accessories, etc. For them, it's a lot easier than actually learning to ride the thing with some actual talent. It looks good on that one Saturday a year that they go for a spin with their kids.

Edit: congrats on getting some of your stuff back, and glad to hear your tools are okay. That's important.

Come back with that same comment after you spend $30-40K on a car.
