nah..I just thought you guys would get a kick out of it. You've probably never even heard of my favorite cyclists. Not that Lance isn't a badass, mind you.
Heard of them? I probably met them.... :D

Not unless you've lived in Europe for the past 10 years. ;)
Most were track people anyway... Some of the famous roadies were Bernard Hinualt, Eddy Merckx, Greg Lemond, Viatcheslav Ekimov (got a jersey from him), Alexi Grewal, Dean Woods... Oh, and Lance... :D
I'm a trackie, and I have proof dammit!:D

Eddy is the man. Period. There is none higher.

Otherwise, I was a big fan of Jose' Maria Jimenez (RIP :( ), and am a big fan of Museeuw, Bartoli, DeVlaminck, Vandenbroucke (when he's not bogged down being a headcase), and Zabel.

Heard of all those guys. I'm a Lance fan and all, but I love Zabel for growing beyond being 'just a sprinter' and winning some hillier races, like Amstel Gold. Plus, he's in the mix nearly year-round. And he's modest about it, too!! Definitely a class act.
Can't wait 'til Le Tour '04. Looks wide open at this point.

Yep, should be a good one. I'm anxious to see what a healthy Tyler Hamilton and Levi Leipheimer can do as well. Both are very talented but have never had a good shot at the Tour for various reasons.

The guys I always wanted to meet, and a huge fan of, were Michael Hubner, Lutz Heslich and and Bill(?) Huck... if you remember those guys, I will send you a cookie.. :D

Guido Bontempi was another favorite.... he was the very definition of Domestique.... we were about the same size (big, 6'1"...) and I always rooted for him... man he must of suffered... :D

Hey, don't take this the wrong way, I think it is great that cyclists get corporate sponserships for racing. What really pisses me off is the US Postal service is sponcering his team. WTF is the US Postal service doing sponsering anything? They can't even turn a profit much less do a decient job of delivering my mail. And they keep raising postal rates, hmm, a government agency wasting tax payers money again, I shouldn't be surprised.

Hmm I knew it would only be a matter of time until Fausto posted this. I think it's pretty cool.

Of course, I'm the resident cycling spaz and I'm a geek to boot, I'd be remiss if I didn't post it. :D
