it's prolly cuz you're in hawaii.

I suffer from hyperhidrosis. It has basically ruined my life. My sweating was bad enough to have a bilateral thoracic sympathectomy. The procedure was a failure, and I ended up having the reversal surgery. The reversal surgery was partially successful.

Since the surgery, my chest and back sweats nonstop (even in cold rooms). My hands are so dry that I must carry a small tube of neutrogena with me at all times. I have to be careful when working out or working in the sun since I am unable to sweat on my head and neck (result of surgery).

I'm hot all the time. I sweat a lot as well. Doesn't affect my hands as much but my face sweats a lot. I'm not overweight by any stretch, I just sweat a lot for some reason.

Many people think it's b/c someone is out of shape or overweight. When I started developing symptoms, I was rather active at work and only slightly overweight (10lbs maybe).

It just means that your body's "thermostat" is all out of whack...

I used to sweat excessively from the armpits. It was a problem I had ever since I could remember sweating.. I thought it was something that I had to live with, I didn't think there was anything that could help.

Three weeks ago, I went to the dermatologist to request some Botox injections (I read they work really well). Instead, she recommended I try DrySol... it's basically a super anti-perspirant. I put it on every 3 nights or so and now I don't sweat from my armpits at all. It stings a bit after I put it on but it's totally worth it. And it's cheap too.

It's such an awesome feeling. I can wear clothes that I've never would have dreamed of wearing before. No more pit stains or anything. A total life changer. I'm no longer thinking about trying to hide it... I feel so confident. I went out and bought new clothes as soon as it started working.

There are definately treatments for you.. I recommend you get to a dermatologist to see if they can recommend something. PM if you want any more info on the DrySol.

YGPM: I've been having sweating issues past coupla weeks. 🙁

I used to sweat a lot when I was younger, and overweight, and to a limited degree it has never completely gone away. I do tend to think my prior overweight was a contributor, but I think my internal thermostat keeps me a little warm in general. Given Dedpuhl's extraordinary story, I'm just glad it isn't a much worse problem.
