I'm sick (cough, congestion, sniffles, some fatigue). Would it be bad to do some cardio exercise now?

Last time I got really sick I went rabbit hunting twice in three days, up and down the southern ohio hills. Quite a cardio workout when you figured its walking 4-5 miles, 1 break, all the terrain we were on was either inclined or declined, and you do a lot of kicking against resistance. *shrug* I lived, but YMMV ;)

I'd say so.. it would just weaken your body more, wouldn't it? I'm no doctor.. but that's what I would imagine.

That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. What are you going to do after exercising? Hop on one foot in a circle three times?

I exercise when I have a cold, but don't push myself. Keeping the metabolisim up is great for the immune system and sweating is the best way to detoxify your body, gotta be sure to drink LOTS of liquids though, but that's always the case with a cold. I'd give it a shot, I use an exercise bike, running or something like that is probably not a good idea though.

i'm going to exercise to lose the cold. i've been in a groove working out lately, and i've been kind of restless tonight. i was wondering if it would prolong my cold or not.

I've had a cold for about two weeks and I've been running right through it (average of 6-7 miles per day with a couple 10-12 milers in there - I'm training for a marathon in May). The cold is almost gone, and I feel as good as can be expected.
