Swapping my E6750 for a Q9550 (OS problem?)

I'm running XP Pro and a E6750. See Sig below. I want to swap out the E6750 for a Q9550. I know my bios can handle it but what about XP pro? Do I have to do anything special or just let XP do it's magic?

My buddy has Win7 and there was not any problems when he swapped his out.

You shouldn't have any XP problems, just swapping out the one component.
I would make sure the BIOS is flashed to the newest before the swap.

thanks. I have the f4 bios for my motherboard now. f12 is the latest. But going to gigabyte's website says f3 supports the q9550. I'm not sure if I will update the bios.

As my friend says.. "The enemy of good is better"
