Swapping boot SD drives and ghosting data

I have a 64 GB SD in my laptop and a 32 GB SD in my desktop. The one in my desktop is faster, but since I'm running out of storage so often and I'm rarely using my laptop now I want to swap the two. What I'm wondering is what I can do about the OS installation. I would like to be able to copy the 32 GB drives contents to the 64 GB drive and use it without having to reinstall all of my programs which are stored on my other drives, but have registry data on the boot.
Anyone done this before? Should I just give up and do a clean wipe?

All this is FREE (assuming a Windows OS)...
1. Connect the 64GB drive and wipe it clean.
2. Download and install EaseUS Disk Copy and Partition Master Home Edition.
3. Clone/Copy the 32GB drive onto the 64GB HD.
4. After cloning is finished, remove the 32GB HD and connect the 64GB drive to the SATA port the 32 was connected to.
5. Boot the PC, use Partition Manager to expand the 32GB image across the whole 64GB drive.
6. Uninstall both programs with Revo Uninstaller, if you don't plan to use them again.
