I?m about to get my car (Fusion 2007) to its first dealer maintenance (10,000 km) but somewhere on the line of 5,000 km I got the car oil changed in an auto shop that I trust and asked for Synthetic oil.

My question is: will the use of semi-synthetic oil (Motorcraft) with the dealership have an impact on my car, like leaking once I move again to Synthetic oil at 15,000 km?

Maintenance are every 10,000 km (~6215 mi).

It's good to hear; I don't think the dealer would let me change the oil myself without telling me things about the warranty.

That is a myth. Synthetic oil does NOT cause leaks, it only makes them more apparent.

Thanks, then I guess that I won?t need to spend $ on oil after the service is done.

It's a shame that the car is going to get Semi-Synthetic oil in winter and full Synthetic on summer.

As long as the oil you use meets the factory specs and you change it yourself at the proper intervals, there are no warranty concerns.
