i got a svt contour, and i havent had anyproblems with it. although ive only had it for 10months :). i was actually at that show also. (the pic with all the svts in it) some ppl have had problem svts, while others have had problem free. in most of the duratechs the water pumps crap out around 60-70k mileage, so you might wanna check that out. also the tranny is pretty weak, so if u plan on powershifting or driving it hard, i wouldnt recomend this car. dont get me wrong though, i love it to death, but its fragile, good luck

1998 Ford Contour SVT - Black w/ Blue Interior
40000 Miles
Extend Warranty (this is huge for me)
Good exterior (hood has some minor issues)
Upgraded front and rear brakes
Powered invisible antenna
40,000 mile service done last week
<5000 miles on tires
Sorry no pics...

Hmm, hood's minor issues are just paint issues right? Not possibly collision issues?
Upgraded brakes... what does that mean? Performance pads? Anyone can do that... I seriously doubt he put in an entire brake system with bigger rotors and/or calipers. Ricers don't do that kinda thing... and from the use of a RActive muffler & shaved crap it's ricer owned. Extended warranty... from who? I hope it's Ford...

Did this guy actually shave the trunk so that it's opened by a solenoid/ram or is this guy trying to sell you his car with factory "mods". WTF is a shaved antenna? Shaved side guards? All he did was peel them off since it looks better that way... shaved... yeah right...

Oh well, at least the warranty will take care of most of your problems if any... hopefully. I like SVT Contours... nice looking car.

Yeah - it is just that it has seen a few rocks come off the pavement. Nothing too serious, it's just not perfect.

4 KVR Cross Drilled rotors with KVR carbon fiber pads

Yes :D

I believe he just got rid of the key hole. The remote opens it.
WTF is a shaved antenna?
The antenna was taken out and the hole filled and painted (like the trunk key hole) A powered antenna is going in behind the rear view mirror.

Next door neighbor kid has one, pretty nice car, plenty fast(although the wife's car ate it).

I don't really know about the price.

Classic buyer's remorse... The seller has $1000 of my money as a down payment and help with financing the exhaust switch. Anyway, I just found this ad:
Selling my 1999 Ford Contour SVT #2362. Black/tan and has 41k miles. The car is in great shape, inside and out. Very well maintained. Full tune up was done at 30k, Bosch +4 plugs, Ford Motorsport wires(blue), coolant flush, tranny flush...replaced with Mobil 1, oil changed every 2.5k to 3k miles with regular Valvoline 5w30 and PureOne filter. The car is stock, except for the tinted windows, 20% onyx black all the way around with a front strip.

There is a scratch on the front bumper on the drivers side which isn't that noticeable. The car needs tires, they have little life left but 41k miles on the original KDW's is good from what I heard.

Like I said, I have taken very good care of the car, washed and cleaned/conditioned the leather regularly. This car was not a beater and never has seen the track. The only reason Im selling is because I found a really good deal on a E36 M3 locally.

I am asking $11,000 OBO

Must sell ASAP...cash talks.
Same mileage, 1 year newer, may not have CD player or moonroof and most important has the tan interior!!

I am thinking this is another good deal, but not sure if I can even try to go for it...

FYI, I saw a site selling superchargers for SVT Contours. I'm thinking about getting one. :)
