svideo2rca adapter

I just bought a laptop and want to use its svideo out to play divx on my TV. However, my tv only has a composite input.
Any idea where I can find this svideo2rca adapter, better in local store. Since the place I found on line selling this, the price is really
high.
Any advice is appreciated.

First be sure that the output on the laptop is actually s-video. It's possibly a proprietary connector for a dongle with both composite and s-video connectors, in which case you would probably need an adapter from the laptop manufacturer.

S-video uses a 4-pin mini-DIN connector. Your laptop might have a different connector that looks a lot like an s-video connector but is not.

Did you try Radio Shack or Best Buy?
