SVCDs.....

My Philips DVD player usually handles any SVCD I can throw at it. A couple of the newer ones I have tried have made the image on the screen bounce up and down making the picture unwatchable. Does anyone know why this would be happening? I looked at vcdhelp.com and didn't see anyhting.

ok I found out that the SVCD is encoded in PAL as suggested by Nosaj. Do I need to have a region-free DVD player for this to play ? It works fine in my parents' Apex with their NTSC tv...

i know that my walmart norcent dvd player can switch between ntsc and pal 😀

Region free won't help...you need a dvd player that can play both PAL and NTSC (such as an APEX). You could also, if the video's are that important, re-encode with tmpeg and convert to NTSC.
