I got some movies i made and put them into SVCD format. When i try and play em on my computer using WMP, it says no filters could be found to decode it. Im pretty sure i have the lastest codecs, when i try and play them with windvd it says:powerDVD does not support the current display mode. (DDraw Overlay mode is recommended)

Please lower the screen resolution and color depth, for example, 800x600 with 256 colors. Or you may adjust the refresh frequency, for example, to 75 Hz.

I change the resolution and it still doesnt help. Anyone have a player that for sure plays em? I have win2k SP2.
im using a CD-RW drive to play them also

Like he said, use PowerDVD. WMP doesn't handle SVCDs, you need a DVD player. I think WMP9 will though, but don't quote me on that.

Windows Media Player (8.0) does support SVCD,I have used it to play SVCD before, using these codecs. However, to quote VCDHelp.com
Play MPEG2 directly with Windows Media Encoder. Warning! This codec may cause sync problems when playing MPEG2s if so use instead WinDVD or PowerDVD.

Personally, I like Cinematograph.
