SVCD Help !!!

Ok, a friend of mine has made a video in SVCD format... he says it works on DVD players... this is correct right? I have the cds now but when I put them in my DVD player (GE) it says there is no CD... any ideas or things i could try to do to get this to work?

vcdhelp.com maintains a table of DVD players and their various (S)VCD compatiblities.

They only work on some DVD players, namely Pioneer, and those crappy Taiwanese brands like Apex and Shinco.

Although your DVD player may not support SVCD.. it still may support VCD.
