Just got an email from SVC.

The GC68 socket A heatsink is on sale for only $1.99 right now. This is a great medium-low noise heatsink for people with cooler running Athlons.

There is also a speaker set on sale for $4.99. Link.

Sunbeam CCFL kits for $5.49

It doesn't say how long these prices are good.

Goodluck,
Brian

I've used GC68's for XP1700's with no problems at all, awesome price/performance ratio.

I've been using one with a 2100+ for a while now. Works great. I replaced the stock fan with a panaflo and I can't even hear it. $1.99 is a great price.

Wow, what are your temps? I figured a 2100 was about the max this HS could handle with the stock fan.

Any thoughts on using this with the XP2000 Thorton Fry's combo? I'm running it at 2600+, but I figure a Thornton/Barton at 2600+ is probably equal to a Palamino at 2100...

Have built close to ten systems using this fan with the 2400+ CPU with various LED fans, panaflos and using just the stock fan. After six months no overheating problems whatsoever. I do use a low RPM fan out and a higher RPM fan in - this is a must for adequate cooling as the PS fan does pull air out also.

my shipping on 2 GC's, 1 speaker set and some yellow cables was $10 (UPS Ground), making my total half shipping price.

Barton 2500 in an Epox 8k5a2 (KT333) running this HSF at 183x11, and never hits above 50c.
(edit: now running above with the $14.99 memory listed below)

XP2200+ in an Epox 8rda+ (NF2) running this HSF at 198x11, and never hits above 45c.

Been using these since they first came out, and you would be an idiot to spend more on a better HSF when these work so well. What would spending $35 on a HSF get me that I can't do with this $2 unit, another 2 MHz? I can hit 205MHz to 210MHz FSB for benchmarking with the above combo's, but for stability run them 24/7 as listed.

I love this HS/F combo. You can't beat it with a stick for $2. I can't believe that they aren't sold out yet.
