I have a XP 1700MHz CPU on a KR7A-RAID Board in a Antec SX1030B with 4 LA1.
Wich one of these coolers would be better Quality/Performance/Price/Quiet?
All of these heatsink with a panaflo LA1.
I'd say go with the alpha. The gc68 is best for a duron and light overclocking, the volcano 7 isn't as good as the alpha. So why not go for one of the most respected heatsinks there are? Ok, maybe price, but go alpha man.
any reason you left out the ax-7? that would be my recomendation, i had the alpha previously and the ax-7 seems to perform better and is easier to install.
I have the Alpha I like it a lot. I also used a L1A. Now my PSU (sparkle) fan is loud and I plan on switching it with panaflos once my package comes in
i'm also an alpha user and i recommend it. it cools well with a low cfm fan. i haven't tried the thermalright ax-7, so i can't compare that for you.
i would first look in the fs/ft forums to see if anyone is selling one, because you'll get it cheapest there ( i got mine lightly used for $30 ). or, you can try svc. and if you need a panaflo, they're selling it for $3.25, which is a steal.
everywhere i have read the Volcano 7+ out performs the Alpha.
check overclockers.com 's extensive list plus a link to more less known HSF's at the bottom of the list.
the AX-7 though has been crowned current champ in my reading..
looking to upgrade too so read heaps (bout 20 web sites) on this the last few days..
i am going with the Volcano 7+ as i can get my hands on one almost half the price of the AX-7 (gettin it US$25 brand new) plus with the new 3 lug clip that ThermalTake is using on them now
