Hey all,
I just recieved and tested a GC68 HS and fan from Silicon Vally Compucycle and I had a Thermaltake Volcano 6Cu+ from Volcano 6Cu+ at Thermaltake. I wanted to post my impressions of the GC68 compared to the Volcano 6Cu+.
I tested the 2 with the below system using MotherBoard Monitor and with CPUBurn. I ran the computer for 1/2 an hour prior to testing, this is noted as Idle temp. I started CPUBurn and let it run for 20 minutes and recorded Load temp. I know this is a little short but after 7 minutes the temps never went up, I let CPUBurn run for an hour just to see. Note these are just my impressions and test results.
All results are in Celcius.
Volcano 6Cu+ Load of 60 and Idle of 48 Motherboard Load of 24 and Idle of 23
GC-68 Load of 54 and Idle of 43 Motherboard Load of 23 and Idle of 22
With stock 30CFM fan
GC-68 Load of 51 and Idle of 42 Motherboard Load of 23 and Idle of 22
With YS-Tech 80mm 48.5CFM fan
Personally I am very happy. I posted this primarily to assure future purchasers of the GC-68 that it does pretty good, in my book. Of course I used AS-II as the thermal compound.
Snowpunk68 posted a review on his site that was part of the guiding influence on me purchasing the HS/HSF. Plus search the forum and see other members idea's and though's on the SVC GC-68.
Thanks for letting me ramble.😀
