k... i was just at svc's website and i saw some 80mm fans (with their name on them) that supposedly push 35cfm of air at 30 or so dba. those specs sound nice... and so does the price. their shipping is also reasonable. so can anyone comment on them... anybody use them? what does a-weighted mean anyway?

hmmm... the address suggests they are really powercool or powercooler fans or something... any comments?

if they are no good... can anybody recommend 80 mm fans with good noise to performance ratio that'll be quieter than my volcano 6cu's dba level (listed at lik 31 dba... but probably an exaggeration). all help is appreciated. thanx.

I can't speak for the svc fans, but I can tell you that the enermax adjustable fans get my vote! Now that they come in blue, the are even better!

You can find all different variations of Enermax fans at THIS site.

Looks like the 80mm size comes in blue and purple.

The prices aren't the best, but not too bad. Can't tell what kind of plug these are tailed with, but that would be nice to know. These look like a good alternative to Panaflo, esp. since these have RPM monitoring. What does anyone else think?

i didnt know they came in diff colors...i got stuck with that (pink/purple/red) one :grrr:

Enermax 80mm 32dba 40cfm...nice fans =)

Im using SVC 80mm fans for my case fans... Their not bad. A little noisier than Sunons but nothing i cant deal with. Around the same CFM i was getting with those as well..

the specs for the enermax fans are:
low: 21 db/25 cfm
medium: 27 db/32 cfm
high: 33 db/40 cfm
So far I have five of these babies in my case and will be getting another one soon 🙂 They rock to say the least!

They are tailed with a 3 pin connector and come with a 3-4 pin adapter. The box comes with screws and a gold grill. So considering that you get all that, plus the ability to adjust the fan, the price is actually very good!

So, I am looking for the perfect fan to couple with an Alpha PAL 8045 sitting on an XP1800. I am trying to decide between the Panaflo H1A which comes untailed, or 2 pin tailed, has no RPM monitoring, and no grille--- and this Enermax fan which has variable speed, RPM monitoring, power pass through and a gold grille.

Which one do you guys think is the best fan?
Which fan do you think is the best deal?
Which fan is the best balance between noise and cooling?

I was so set on buying a panaflo, and then today that all changed and I think that I am going to go with enermax. Do you guys think that this is a good decision, or would you stick with the Panaflo H1A? Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

I am using an enermax fan on my Alpha right now and WONT change it. I am so happy with this combo! The only thing that I did change was putting a 92mm on my Alpha. Enermax adjustable of course. All my fans now are enermax. My temps with my 92 on low are 43c full load MAX! This is with an LCD probe so software is about 8c lower. So using MBM5 it tells my that my CPU temps are 36c with an XP1600@1575. My HS fan is set to 1/4 speed, my intake is 1/4 speed, top exhaust lowest setting and I have an 80mm in the back to exhaust from the Alpha set to low. My case temps are 22-26c with LCD and MBM5. I would say go for the enermax!
