SUZUKI AERIO SEDAN - Could it be the next best selling car?

It's not cheaper, not all the much more powerful, looks like a cross between a civic and an echo. I don't get what is so special about this car.

<< I don't get what is so special about this car. >>

Don't you understand? It's special because it's small, uncomfortable, and useless for anything but basic transportation. Now once Suzuki adds another 10hp to it's laughably puny engine, they can sell that new model as a high-performance model with a flashy "Type-???" badge and make millions.

its hideous! it looks like they took a picture of a normal car then used photoshop to shrink it horizontally but not vertically.

<< Its a Toyota Echo, they just sticked on a suzuki label on it.

And who told you that? The exterior panels are all different and they don't even share wheelbase/track/width/length dimensions. The Aerio is a large vehicle.

<< They wont sell much with that stupid ads.

Who the hell buys suzuki anyway?
>>

I am a proud owner of a Suzuki XL-7.
and 90% of parts are from Japan. Suzuki has made a lot of improvement in the last 2 years. You will see more Suzuki on the road in the future, believe it or not.

This version sells more:

Fuel economy is a strange thing. The Aerio sedan gets the same EPA figures as my Accord, which has 152 hp/150 lb-ft vs the Aerio's 141hp/135 lb-ft and weighs 3016 lbs vs Aerio's 2668 lbs. 11% more peak torque and 13% more weight, but the Accord gets the same fuel economy. Perhaps the Aerio's fairly low 3000rpm torque peak is "hurting" it on the EPA test. I think my Accord's torque peak is around 4200rpm.

Well, looks like Suzuki sold 964 Aerios in April 2002 compared to 29,054 Civic sales in April. I say Suzuki has a loooong way to go. 🙂
