Me and my mom have been debating about which SUV to get? We have it down to the Niassan Murano SL or the BMW X3 2.5i. We dont need the power so exclude all of the comments about the BMW 2.5 liter engine vs the Murano's 3.5 liter. Please any comments would be a help.

I'm a huge X5 fan, but the X3 is downright ugly. I'm not high on the Murano's dome look either, but it's the better of the two. Curious, why not the FX35 ?

i say the FX35 would be a better car for the money. a step above the murano on a different platform.

but if i'd get a bmw i'd make it a sedan/coupe.

yea we were trying to stay around 30 for the base price. we want to add navi and all but around 30 for the base. the infinity FX might be to much.

the pathfinder fits the bill. IMO it's a more rugged SUV than both the murano and the X3.

Negative.
They share engines.

the murano is based on the altima/maxima and the FX is based on the G35 platform.

really ? I swear the Murano doesn't hum like the FX/G35. I believe the new Pathfinder/Armada does though...

The X3 is ugly as sin.

That being said, I'd still choose it, since it's an inately better car.

I don't know about the Murano, and I'm pretty sure your mom's not going off-roading, but the X3 is entirely incapable of it... thus making it a worthless SUV... more like a small-size minivan. Just FYI.

It's actually like a jacked up 3-series. They're pretty enjoyable to drive, aside from knowing that everyone is looking at your car and shielding their eyes.

a MINI Luxury SUV???

does that sound down right stupid to anyone else?

SUV's are tight on space as it is, to get the smallest one just seems stupid. plus how can you have luxury in a small vehicle.

finally, Luxury SUV??

amazing how people fall for bad marketing ploys.

Murano, because I like how it looks. And I've read that the X3's suspension is too harsh without the associated performance benefit.

yea it looks like the murano is what we are going to buy. she mainly goes by consumerreports and not what she likes and the murano gets a better rating than the X3.

SUV's are very small interiors when compared to the exterious size. compare an SUV with a Minivan, only the really large SUV's have as much space or more than a Minivan.

shoot, the mid size SUV's are barely larger than a Taurus. a Taurus station wagon is probably as big interior as most mid size SUV's.
