If those men (some of which seemed to be parents of the children) I'd imagine that they'd explain why they attacked the twenty year old. What kind of idiot would just beat the crap out of some guy and expect his kids to understand what happened? The problem isn't corruption. I don't believe that looking at a naked woman would corrupt someone at any age. Like I've said repeatedly before, the problem lies in the fact that if we allow that to be accepted where do we draw the line? The government has enough problems handling it's own issues, let alone the issues of other people's children.

Once I volunteered to tutor kids at an inner city elementary school, I was assigned a real problem kid. He had zero attention span. Literally. It was impossible even to get this kid to eat lunch.

Anyway, one day I got so exasperated chasing the kid around the school, that I just sat down to do some reading. After about 5 minutes or so, I decided that I really should go and check up on him. When I found him in another classroom, I told him to come back so that we could get back to work.

That's when this kid turned to the teacher and said "This guy is trying to rape me" :Q

Fortunately the teacher was a bit more sane than the average ATOT poster, and saw through this lad's bullshit, and told him never to say that again. As for me, I had had it, and I never came back to that school again. In my 30+ hours spent with this kid, I had never even touched him.

Maybe I should be glad that I didn't get my skull bashed in right then and there. :roll: Everyone these days seems to go to the crowbar first whenever a 5 year old makes a complaint.

Your situation is different from the one of the sicko who was showing nude magazine.
Now, in your case you were a volunteer helping at a school... granted some sickos do this too to get access to children. You OTOH had good intentions by trying to help the kids. And there was no proof that you did anything wrong, his word against yours and since you prolly had a good reputation and this kid had been a known problem child the school admin believed yours.

The sick guy at the park was different. It wasn't about his word against a child. I'm pretty sure the parents saw him with the dirty magazine. Showing a dirty magazine... who knows if it was just a playboy or one of those VERY GRAPHIC magazines showing ppl having intercourse, IDK as the article doesn't get specific enough... either way its still wrong. And granted they went a little overboard by beating him, I'm sure they did it because there was PHYSICAL EVIDENCE (the magazine) thereby provoking the ppl in the area to commence a beat down. I'm not condoning the beating... all I'm saying is I would not have been sympathetic to the guy if I KNEW for a fact that he did show some nude photos/magazine. Most likely I would have walked away and let the crowd deal with him.

You're right... i'm sure if you're kid was sitting with this guy you'd politely ask him to stop showing your child graphic pictures while at the playground as it is inappropriate and not civil...... w/e

I don't know if you have kids... I have a little girl, and if some sick fvck like this was going around showing her some magazines of ppl naked i'd be pretty freaking mad. Now, I'm not saying that I, myself would commence the beatdown nor would I have joined in... but I ain't gonna try and stop it either... UNLESS it's obvious that he is mentally ill. Most likely though I would have called the police and held him there and had assitance in holding him down until police arrive and handle it.

I myself wouldn't feel like having assault charges pressed filed against me, nor would I want my daughter to see me behave violently.... I have too much to lose.

Your post only reinforces my first even though you are attempting to defend your reaction. I dont have kids, never will, dont want them, and it doesnt matter. One important as fsck all thing you are forgettnig is context. There are just so many things that make me sick when i think of people like you that i dont know where to begin. I would bet dimes to dollars taht youre a religious man. Anyway, here a FEW things you dont know, yet you are willing to make STRONG conclusions in their absence:

1. content of the "nudie" pics (care to define that?)
2. intent of showing them
3. curiosity of children
4. admiration kids show (children look up to elders and they treat older kids VERY differently than kids their own age AND their parents--authority, something you should look into Franco).
5. depth and breadth of sexual knowledge of the average 7-9 year old
6. maturity level of the children in question (and the 20 year old)
... ad nauseum.

Yet, lacking all this and more you and your ilk would lynch this guy? Thats just fscking sick man.

You'd be outta of a whole lotta dimes and dollars... haven't been to church in over a decade. In fact I'm not a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist.... etc. I'm more of a monotheist who believes in a higher being and that all religions have a different name for him.

As to your points:

1) The article is not specific enough to say whether it was just some softcore stuff showing boobies only or hardcore stuff showing graphic pics of ppl having intercourse... either way I have no problem with nudity and the human body, but there is a time and place for the education of the body to be taught and its not at a playground by some sicko not qualified to teach it. I'm pro sex ed BTW.... use to teach it myself in middle school as a volunteer.

2) Don't know the intent... but if you have that crap with you while at a playground you're asking for trouble.

3) God knows who curious children are... all the more reason this guy should've been more careful. Hmmmmm... let me see, I have this porno/dirty pics/magazine on me... maybe its not a good idea to stop at the playground.. IDK wadda u think? If you like that stuff i don't care and don't judge ppl for that, just keep it to yourself or with others who enjoy it that are of age to make that decision.

4) The guy was 20yrs old... not a kid in my book. Furthemore, though I know kids look up to older ppl closer to thier age than their parents, this guy is not the kind I approve. I have no problem with my kid looking up to older kids so long as they are good kids... not some porno carrying type.

5) Really don't want to go there. 7 - 9 yr olds shouldn't have to be thinking about these kinds of things. They are still in elementary....geez let them have a childhood. They should be playing games and having fun not trying to understand sexual intercourse. I personally am going to explain this kinda stuff to my child prolly over the summer right before they hit middle school... since I know they will be bombarded by it from their peers... at least want them to get the facts straight.

6) Maturity level of 7 - 9 yr olds? Really? :roll: The guy otoh is 20 so no excuses unless he is mentally impaired and took the magazine from home from his parents or found it somewhere and did not know what it was due to his handicap. If that was the case I would have defended him from getting hurt since he most likely himself couldn't comprehend the items he was holding. I think I would be able to identify that pretty easily though if I was there and would explain it to others that he doesn't know any better.
