Sushi?

I have no clue about asian cuisine.

But I liked the sushi I tried at some restaurant once. Unfortunately, it's only a buffet place, so I can't buy the stuff by itself, and spending $10 just to eat the sushi is not the best option.

Anyone here make it themselves? I've seen tutorials online but I don't even know where to buy ingredients (mainly the seaweed)

I live in a pretty uncultured area. 🙁

Probably know the answer to this one, but is there anywhere you can buy sushi and have it shipped to you cold-packed or something? Or at least the ingredients.

You got a Trader Joe's in your area? they have decent sushi (not fresh restaurant quality but it should hold you over)

No Google where you live?

Quite the comedian.

It's difficult to find the best places to buy things from simply searching. I'd hoped someone here had some personal knowledge of the subject. Searches turn up thousands of places to buy equipment, but little practical information on finding ingredients.

Actually spending $10 just to eat the sushi is a good deal. A la carte sushi is expensive shiznit.

It's not too bad, but I'd like to buy some to take with me, and that's a no-no at all you can eat.

And I have a feeling the stuff I tried was probably not good sushi anyway, but I'm a novice. 😱

There's a place I'm going to in 15 minutes that's all you can eat sushi. Melt-in-your-mouth salmon, mm-mm.

Care to place a bet on that? Besides, "Awesome" is a matter of opinion, and in my opinion the sushi restaurants I go to make awesome sushi, and I have eaten sushi all across North American in my business travels.

The only place I know to get seaweed is one of those Asian grocery stores. I'm guessing they don't have them in North Dakota though...

Agreed, it's something to be savored, not crammed down your throat till you're about to pop.
