sushi needs more bacon

I'm having a spicy salmon roll for lunch and I can't help thinking how much better it would taste with bacon

Sushi is all about delicate flavors, freshness, and lightness. Bacon is none of those and has no place in real sushi. I bet you want some cheddar cheese spread to dip it in, right?

Are you crazy? Bacon is as delicate and smooth as a baby's ass.... covered in chainsaws. But who gives a shit, MOAR BACON.

I fail to see how raw fish = delicate flavor or freshness. I'll give you the lightness part, but seriously? Delicate my ass.

If your sushi is not fresh, I would stay far away...
I'm sure half a pound of bacon and slathering it with frank's red hot would help mask the flavor of spoiled fish.

Remember in food terms: delicate = bland.

Raw fish is pretty darn bland. And that is how so many people like their sushi. They want virtually no flavor, so there are only subtle differences like texture or faint flavors left. Bacon, while greatly improving the taste, will destroy the experience of trying to distinguish one bland flavorless meat from another.

As for freshness, that goes hand in hand with delicate. If your raw fish doesn't taste delicate (bland), that means it tastes like nasty rotten fish flesh. No one wants to eat that. So, if it isn't fresh then it isn't delicate and it isn't the boring near tasteless experience that sushi eaters want.

oooh...sounds good.

In all seriousness...by the time I get done slathering fake wasabi spread all over my sushi roll...any nuance of flavor is lost.

As an experienced fisherman, I've had the pleasure of being party to cleaning fish. It doesn't get much "fresher" than that. If there ever was such a thing as a "delicate" "fresh" fish, then I haven't met it. There's absolutely nothing delicate about fresh fish.

Now that is fucking twisted. At the very least we could respect the animals and kill them before we begin to eat them.

Why? It's delicious.

We probably take a different position on food when it comes to this.
I'd prefer to ensure my animals are dead before I eat them because I think its cruel to eat them while they are alive.
"Why is that cruel?" Because its unnecessary pain for the animal.
"But we eat them anyways so what is the point?" Because we can at least spare the animal all that extra pain by simply killing them first.

But hey, I'm not about to stop you from eating it the way the you want to eat it. Its your choice, but its one that I simply can't agree with.

Reminds me of how I like my steaks, "just knock the moo off and throw it on a plate".

Reminds me of someone here who said their boss once told the waiter something like , "Just slap it on its ass, and send it on its way out here"
