SuSE 8.0 Need help

Need help configuring my laptop i just installed SuSE 8.0 and i love it but i cant seem to get my video to work properly
cant use 3D games and if i do its very slow. I tried using Sax to configure as well as the Yast2 but still unable to get it to work.
when it asks me if i want to set up 3D acceleration i set it up and it tests fine but then i try to play ie; chromium it acts very very sluggish.
when i was using 7.3 it was working fine but now that i have installed 8.0 im having porblems need some advice
im kinda a newbie.


Sorry i forgot to mention the video card is on a laptop Compaq Presario 1800T
its an ATI chipset its probes as an ATI Mobiility M3

Ahh, almost makes sense now. What version of XFree 86? Did it load the proper drivers?
 
yeah the drivers were installed properly , and the version of XFree 86 is 4.2 with X11 whatever that is i guess its the implementation of OpenGL but i tried to do all that i know but was unsucessfull. as i stated b4 i was able to select the option to use 3D , and tested fine but upon the restart of Xserver it didnt work
