Susan Boyle admitted to psychiatric clinic

Having lost in the final of Britain's Got Talent, singing sensation Susan Boyle has been admitted to a psychiatric clinic. It appears stress is to blame.

Boyle was involved in an altercation with a reporter and many feel that she lost as a result of a smear campaign in the press that caused her to loose favour with the public. The competion was won by a dance act.

Who will remember the dance act in two months?

I think this is a clear case of the gutter press creating sensational stories rather than reporting the news. Susan is a victim of overnight fame and her own incapacity to deal with it:

Not really. This is something that only a select few are blessed with witnessing. However, with the invention of the television, and now reality TV shows, it is becoming more common. I'd say in about 5 years, everyone will know this. Until then, I cannot end my statements regarding this matter with "Everyone knows this" as it would be disingenuous.

IMO there was possibly bias from record companies, since it's hard to sell an ugly singer to the main music demographic - teenagers. She was amazing, but not exactly "hip."

IMO there was possibly bias from record companies, since it's hard to sell an ugly singer to the main music demographic - teenagers. She was amazing, but not exactly "hip."

The winning group was a dance act, no? That's not the easiest thing to market either. That's all touring, and maybe a DVD or 2. Not the biggest money maker for record label.

I was disappointed she sang the same les mis song, yet this time walked out like she was a goddess. It really sounded great tho.

As for the dance team that won, they were beyond sensational and the choreography was nothing less than elite.

it personally bored me. They had skill in doing what they set out to do, but the actual choreography of their dance left a lot to be desired. I just didn't see much that was WOW worthy. Actually none of it wowed me, but dance groups, imho, are nothing more than hip cheerleading groups, and it takes a lot to actually entertain me with that kind of stuff. Plus, they weren't even women, and/or wearing skimpy clothes. I was disappoint.
