when thinking about it, I think she would have rejected it.

The temptation to erase an unjust crime is understandable. But Anthony’s sentence, like John Lewis’s for each act of good trouble, or Martin Luther King Jr.’s for protesting in Selma, or Sojourner Truth’s for daring to be Black in Indiana, are a point of pride in their biographies, a testament to great ideals and greater courage. They are at once the mark of their heroism and an indelible reminder that the law can be unjust, that indeed it was, and challenging it was—and still is—a profoundly moral act of democracy.

OMG. This is insane.
If any other President had done this, they would be singing his praises.

But you're right, dead people don't need any pardons. Because they are dead.

If presidents are going to symbolically pardon someone who's life work stood for something then its probably reasonable to to want the pardon to come from a place of respect and admiration as opposed to doing it in order to score political points.

Hollow symbolic pardons are hollow.

If a democrat had done it, it likely would have been a sincere gesture.

I don't agree with the article's conclusion that the pardon is a slap in the face to women per se. I do agree it is when someone as insincere as Trump does it.

I agree symbolic pardons are hollow BS. Dead people don't need pardons.

Also not worth getting the old knickers in a twist about either.

Given all the other crap going on right now I think this is one issue we all should just ignore.

Don't worry, another day and Trump will do something else that his base will worship and objective viewers will point out why it's just another scam, and then onto the next one. Grifters gonna grift, gotta get that money.

DNC starts 17th.
One trick pony is viewing this as a ratings battle between to 2 TV show. He gets someone to tell him the speaker schedule. Hears the words Michelle Obama will be speaking on the 18th and recalls her favorable ratings. Also hears Kamala Harris's name.
Trump asked for someone who will trend well with women.
Trump makes "President Trump on Monday night said he will pardon someone who is “very, very important” statement after viewing DNC coverage.
18th - Trump makes pardon announcement - Intended demographic "Women love that shit"
Trump finds about Colin Powell (Who he hates) and sees Obama on the schedule. He is looking for something to counter and Pompeo jumps at the opportunity to have Trump beat Pompeos dead horse.
Dec 19th- They time the Snapback comment to counter both Obama's news coverage and Powells.

Toss in that idiotic press conference...

Meaningless transparent gestures conjured up by incompetent jackasses.

Everything this guy does is predicable rating games bullshit.

the so called 'snapback' will likely fail as it's likely no one on the security council will follow trumps lead.

Aren't you the guy who claims up is down? Credibility deficit.

Think Trump really cares about SBA or her history? What about the woman who got 5 years in jail because she accidently made an illegal(her state) vote? That is very recent history.

It is not because she is dead, it is because she actively did not want a pardon when she was alive. All of her co-conspirators were given pardons, but she refused. Because a pardon comes with a assumption of guilt, and she held to her dyeing day that she was innocent because it was always her right as a citizen. Democrats picked up on this because it fits their narrative, but the people really calling for Trump to rescind the pardon are historians from both sides of the political spectrum, because they know of her work and writings and know that she stated repeatedly while she was alive that she did not want or need a pardon.

The only thing more meaningless, was when Trump just recently, jabbed a bible into the air after gassing protesters.
