Surely a brilliant student of the game like Russell supposedly was would know in advance of jury bitterness, would see the history of jury votes based on personality and would be able to play accordingly. If Russell was unable to accept that he needed VOTES to win and was unable to adapt his strategy to take that into account than he clearly was not nearly as brilliant as he thinks he was. Case closed. He had 18 prior seasons to study and he failed to learn that most simple of lessons.

If there's an obvious failure, its like you said...he's been a fan of the game yet didn't learn from the voting aspects. Atleast work the final speech with consideration of lots of bitterness...some sensitivity towards that and reminding people that this was a game, and that most are going to get stabbed in the back anyways, could have gone a long ways.

For a guy so socially perceptive, he should get his @ss kicked for not being more strategic here (and he's probably the one doing it as we speak.)

I said it when it happened and now jeff agrees with me, go probstie!!

In the vast majority of seasons the bitter loser factor becomes tremendously lessened at the final council as it becomes bitter against those perceived as hanger-ons for still being in the game vice the individual jury member. This season it was such an epic and impressive dismantling of the dominant tribe (my vote for surpassing the dumbest moment/person on survivor) that the collective jury decided to go with a case of vaginaitis instead of whom kicked their ass.

As far as next season, I saw a blurb on one of the tv sites that said there would be 20 members, but I think that list posted earlier only had 19?

Todd? Are you kidding? That guy was frickin awful.

I disagree. I think he controlled most of the game, and then played the jury like I've never seen before. His response to Jean-Robert that shut him up and got his vote was probably the best response to a jury question I've ever heard.

I think you're giving her way too much credit. She doesn't come across as being overly bright to me. Quitting a great job to go on Survivor would be the first clue.

Doesn't need a job now, she has a million dollars. Sounds like the right decision to me.

I would quit my job in a heart beat to go on the show. To some of us there are more important things in life. You can always get another job.

If I were single, I might do that. However, I wouldn't stop providing for my family to go on the show. If I were planning on switching jobs anyways and had several months of bills saved up (to have time to find a new job), then I might consider it. I guess it just depends on if you can afford to make ends meet without a job and if others are depending on you or not.
