Russell is playing the game well. Like him or not.

That's the way it is. He kicks @ss on the physical challenges too. He'll get booted after the merge tho...he's too strong yet doesn't have any strong alliances.

Interesting dynamic between the two teams in the reward challenge. No one to referee and they both played nice. Very telling IMO that Russell was the first one making a dash for the chickens. Of course we only see what they want us to see.

Interesting that both tribes have already found the immunity idol with very little/no help. Would be funny if the idols were marked specifically for the other tribe though. Would cause the holders to have to find out who the other holder is and propose a trade.

but the idols are almost never put into play, other than as intimidation/bargaining chips/alliance makers
so just getting it and using it to ensure you get to the merge is how they are actually used

I don't think he's going to be able to fool everyone much longer. Lots of people are already starting to talk about how they don't trust him. I can't see him making it to the end.

Russell won't have the strong alliances he will need to succeed after the merge, which is when he will be targeted. He's making it interesting tho, and is no slouch in the challenges either.

damn, should have voted off liz instead; on the good side only 1 of the liz votes was revealed so russel lucked out there.

when do you guys think they merge, next show or one more after that?
or do you think they'll do a switch up and re-balance the teams or something of a twist

I think the merge will happen at least a couple of weeks from now. And even though purple is steamrolling over yellow I don't think they will do a major switch-up.

I believe that Shambo will be sticking around until after the merge to team up with the other tribe. Just not sure how many of them will be left for her to ally with.

I thought Russell would never make it, but when Liz confronted him about it he turned the tables pretty well on her. That's like the third time he's done that so I'm impressed. He is a little too cocky though so I wonder if it'll work out for him in the merge.

And Liz was ridiculous in the coconut challenge. She carried almost as much as Russell did!

Merge usually occurs at 12 - we have 14 left and per the previews of next week one member gets medicaled.

So we may go to the merge in 2 weeks.

Did he? Well that makes things interesting.

The merge should be real interesting this time. You got a small group that while they've been killed in challenges has become fairly hardcore at playing of the game, while the other grouping seems like they are still trying to maintain grasp of vacation mentality with their relative easy wins throughout.

The same thing happened a season or two ago. One tribe won every challenge except one before the merge.

They don't always follow the same timeline though. Sometimes they mix things up. Sometimes they merge earlier or later than 12. Several seasons ago, one tribe won every challenge, and they didn't merge until the losing tribe had only one member left (Stephenie, I think).

I think they made it look like Liz was holding as much weight as Russell but I don't think it wasn't close, they stacked his to the top and he had a lot more than liz.

It will get interesting tho. Liz is a strong person and even tho Russell talks a big game and had some gamesmanship wins, he hasn't had any influence on who's gone home for the last 3 or 4 weeks.
