Anyone watching? I haven't watched this show since season 2. But this one looks interesting. I really want to see the millenials get their ass's kicked. First time I seen them have to evacuate due to a cyclone. In its 33 seasons this has never happened.

I have watched every season. I know the show is terrible but we like it. I'm not sure about the whole generational thing and how that will play out but at least it is a different twist this time.

I've seen every episode of the show and watched it last night. That was pretty crazy that they evacuated everyone. I wonder if they let them eat and stuff wherever they evacuated to. I doubt it but was curious.

Wish that paranoid dude got voted off instead of the big tittied chick but oh well!

I'm not sure what you mean the show is terrible, it's the longest running show in the history of TV as far as seasons go (on season 33 now) and it has some of the highest numbers out of any show.

I do enjoy how they always come up with new things to do in the show too. I liked how the challenge had them having to make choices mid-challenge, something they have never done before. I also like the legacy advantage that is going to give an advantage to one of the final 3 or 4 at the end of the game. I'm guessing it's going to be something where it's a multi part challenge and it will let the person with the advantage skip the first part or move directly to the last part.

I'm rooting for the millennials. Gen Xers turned sour and bitter twenty years before they had any right or reason to.

I mean it is generally perceived as terrible TV but those that don't follow it ("reality TV has ruined everything," etc.). I meant to word it differently then the phone rang.

I've watched a lot of the seasons. There are some where I just don't connect with anyone. I hate how puzzle focused most of the challenges have become over the past few seasons. I could be wrong but it used to be a lot of physical challenges with a puzzle thrown in every now and then. Now it seems like the physical portions of each challenge are devalued by a puzzle at the end.

Ill give this season a few more episodes to see if I start pulling for anyone.

It's pretty crazy if you go back and watch old seasons. They have made the game A LOT easier than it used to be. They have all these reward challenges now with food, they give them flint, chickens, fishing gear, etc. It used to be a lot tougher in the earlier seasons.

I must live in a cave. 33 seasons? I watched it but thought it would be like the other survivor shows. Toss 'em on an island and let's see who makes it. I was laughing at the millennials going swimming and they hadn't finished their shelter yet.

They have 2 seasons a year, so IMO it's bullshit to claim it's the "longest running TV series as far as seasons go." It started in 2000

Ongoing Food Network shows are often split into calendar seasons. For example Chopped started in 2009 and already has had 26 "seasons". So comparing shows based on how many seasons they had doesn't mean a damn thing.

It's true, it's just a meaningless metric.

How is that a bullshit claim? It's fact.

Anything that runs that many season, regardless of how many seasons are in a year, isn't "terrible TV" because if it was it would have no viewers and therefore make no money.

You're placing the value of the TV show on the fact that they can run it without losing money. That's a pretty bad metric to value something based on.

I'm saying the fact that it has been running for 33 seasons and still pulls in the numbers it does for a TV show in prime time means that people like it. I'm sorry if you can't comprehend that fact, whether you like it or not.

Interesting concept. The wife and I stopped watching a couple years ago. Just lost interest in it I guess and we had cancelled cable. By then we were definitely tired of the "X" vs "N" series. I think they should have gone back to school yard pick.

And millions of people still eat McDonalds, doesn't mean it isn't trash. Popular != good.

Oh yeah I forgot on ATOT that something being good is not an opinion, it's fact. My bad.

Well for one thing it's just flat out wrong regardless of how to count the seasons. Many more shows have more seasons than 33:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_longest-running_United_States_television_series

You'll also note that the way they list longest running TV series is by years, not seasons. Years makes a lot more sense than seasons

It was OK. As usual Survivor's success season to season depends on the contestants, and how entertaining and interesting they are. They'll mix it up in a month and redo the tribes like they always do. And yes, it's gotten WAY easier, they would have never given them a tarp in the past. They also used to practically starve, you never see that anymore.

Survivor is terrible TV in the same way McDonalds makes terrible hamburgers - they still sell a shitload of them for reasons other than "quality'.
