you know what i'd like to see in FO4? more crafting, and not only ammo like in NV.
FO3 had *some* crafting, finding blueprints and making the steel nail gun for instance, but it was not giving you a big edge over the ordinary weapons you could find.
i want to put that Science/Repair skills to work and let me build unique weapons and armor.
it's a shame that these days Fast Travel is prevalent in every game that we don't need vehicles anymore, then again this isn't GTA...
but PLEASE PLEASE get rid of the level cap at 20! i don't care if they make everything ridiculously tougher i want to progress my character to god-like stats!
Kind of agree the story in FO3 is better, but mechanics are WAYYY better in FO: NV. The aiming, weapons, everything just felt better in NV. I usually don't bother reading much into video game stories, so I still prefer NV.
Starting off in a cowboy area was just ridiculous. Left a bad taste in my mouth the rest of the game... not to mention one of the most useful weapons was the one with the iron site.
So we are hit with nuclear devastation, that means let's head back to the 1800's? It was beyond stupid.
At least in FO3 you're running through ruined cities and ruined buildings for the most part, which actually makes sense. Also the simpler upgrade options of FO3 was nice.
Also the FO3 story may not have been great, the but the NV story was absolutely terrible. I made it about 15hrs in, read the Wiki for the story and put that garbage to rest.
I also prefer FO3 to NV. It has to do with the Feel of it. The devastation was just more apparent and there was a greater sense of Loss.
Which is fine but thats not what Fallout is actually about.

Hmm, FO3...I guess I actually have to get around to playing it.
I spent 70 some hour sin NV, never finished it. FO1 is still my favorite.
FO3 I played for about an hour, just past the intro...had to reformat the drive after that, for reasons, and never got back to it. :\ (also, FO burnout and all that)
It doesn't get real good until you're out of the bomb shelter. If you're like me, you check everything all the time, so I spent an hr just inside the shelter.
Once you get to Megaton and you start doing some of the quests, it starts to pick up. It seemed like you were actually doing good for the town, gave you some investment.
