strange no threads about this one...

Bathesda has trademarked Fallout 4 in the EU and ZeniMax (Bathesda parent company) has put up a site (http://thesurvivor2299.com/) with a countdown to december.
so, is it a sequel 5 years after FO3?

Hmmm well it does have the vault-tec logo and the beeping seems to to be morse code. so if anyone is familiar with that they could possibly find out what it says

It could be a sequel, but maybe another fallout games as F3 was in 2277 and NV was 2281

I just played FO3 this past year - having not played any other FO or similar styled RPG.

Was one of my favorite games! A sequel would be welcomed.

Well, I sort of agree and disagree at the same time about the game engine. As much as I would love to see a new engine, the new engine would need to also be a modable as the current one for me to really enjoy. Just look how many extra years of service the current engine gave these games due to the modding community being able to do things like boost graphics, add content, modify AI, fix "issues" etc.

Hopefully rather than a hoax this is a promo for a new post-apocalyptic game, like Metro 2033 in its day. Not Fallout, but good on its own merits.

Do they have separate teams working on Fallout series and Elder Scrolls? They dont have their hands full with this ES Online thing?

They would as the ES Online is a separate studio/Team (ZeniMax Online Studios) that is independent from the Betheasda team when it comes to game development. I am sure there would be some shared resources but I could see that they would be both in development

Hasn't there been a few hoaxes centered around Fallout 4? I remember one about spotting Bethesda scouting Boston.

If they don't use a new engine, I will still play it, but be severely disappointed.

I hope it's made by the New Vegas team and not the FO3 team. The factions added so much to the game.

The NV team was outsourced to Obsidian. I'm uncertain they'd work with Bethesda anymore after they got screwed out of their bonus for missing a metacritic score by a point or two largely due to bugs from rushed release.

Fallout 4 = Wasteland 2

Skyrim isn't on Gamebryo, is it? I just started playing that again, after more than a year away, and after dowloading some nice mods, it's still really solid.

It was a buggy, infuriating mess on release, and still has issues, of course, but god damn is it still gorgeous.

Basically....Bethesda should do whatever they did for Skyrim, but spend some more time polishing before release, please.

Supposedly, there is also a separate team for ESOL and TES standalone games. well, I god damn hope so.

Yeah its gamebryo, I think they changed a few things and named it something else... but its still gamebryo.
