I see a plastic surgeon tommorow morning for the long and slow process of healing my left hand from severe, deep 2nd and 3rd degree burns I suffered when a pan of burning candle wax spilled on it 5 days ago. I may have lost use of my thumb and pointing finger, and I hope it can be corrected with skin graffs or other healing techniques.

Somehow I feel a bit better others are getting things done for them at this time.Misery loves copmany,I guess.

Good luck, and report back your success. Demand good pain killers. You will need more than aspirin,I think.;)

No big deal. You'll be fine. I've had it done twice. My nose has been broken more times than Russ has had sex.

When I was 5 I took a baseball bat to the nose. It broke my nose in about 5 pieces, which were promptly and inexpertly fixed with a large piece of tape placed over the bridge of my nose. For 14 years I looked like I moonlighted as a punching bag. I had no ability to breath on the left side of my nose.

When I finally had the operation I was almost 19. Immediately after the operation I made the stupid mistake of getting up out of bed to go to the bathroom because I did not want to use the bed pan offered to me by the nurses. I passed out coming out of the bathroom, fractured my skull and broke my left thumb. Furthermore, my sutures ruptured and I d*mn near bled to death. I spent an extra week in the hospital.

The second time I had the operation (quite a few broken noses later), 5 years after the first one, I stayed in bed for 3 days and refused to budge! Everything went fine. So please, STAY PUT until they tell you to move. I hope you take directions better than I did at 19. :p

God Bless and enjoy breathing properly for a change. And if you get a good looking schnozz out of it all the better.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, scan the before and after pics. But only above the neck, puhleeeze!! :p

Please get well soon. I'm gonna be outnumbered in the politico threads without you. :D Here's a song you can sing for Christmas:

Randolph the flat nosed raindeerh

had a funny looking snout

so Santie cut his nose off just to try and smooth it out.

But when they sewed his nose on

Santie sewed it up side down,

Now every time the rain falls,

poor ol' Randy nearly drowns.

Ahhh, good ol' me again. Well, I guess not quite, I still have a big splint on my nose and I look like I got my ass kicked. I'm pretty, how can I describe it...purple? Purple and sort of blue-ish, and my face is very round. Round and puffy. I'm feeling better by the minute, though. I stopped taking the pain med's yesterday, so if anyone would like some Codeine...;)

Is that little song supposed to make me feel better? :Q

Excuses, excuses. If you had J. Lopez there doing a strip tease you'd have more cameras than Time Magazine! :p
