Surge Protector: What joules do I need? Don't want to spend a dime more than needed

I think I will invest in a surge protector.

I want the point where the core reality meets the overhyped overpriced bullshit. What's the least I can spend? Joule rating? I have a basic home PC system listed below. Is there an ideal place to order it online? Home Depot only had 700 joule power strips. It seems like that level wasn't even worth buying. Thanks!
