Surge protector on network question

WilsonTung

I just bought a Triplite DNET1 surge protector to sheild my home network.

I connected the surge protector from the WAN to my Linksys 4-port router. The instructions say that I'm supposed to connect a second green wire to ground on the chassis of the equipment I'm protecting. Unfortunately, the Linksys is just a plastic box.

So I connected the green wire to the chassis of one of my desktops. I think this should be ok -

Any thoughts?
