Surge Protector for old wiring/house with new LCD TV.

Our house is pretty old, we rent so we can't rewire it ourselves. We bought a new 650 52'' Samsung LCD TV and want to be sure it lives a long life without having to fear that the power in the house is sending the 'wrong signals', if you will, to it.

Just to give you an idea: If we have the microwave, air conditioner, and a computer on, a fuse breaks. We want to keep our TV safe, so what do you recommend? We're willing to spend a little money on this, perhaps $100-200 dollars if need be.

Have you considered running a new line? it won't be that much more than what you have already budgeted --- but you are not going to be using anywhere near as much juice on your setup as the mic uses. I have a Pioneer 1018 receiver, blu-ray player, cable box, LN52A630, and mirage nanosat system plugged into the same strip and it uses about 370 watts combined according to my kill a watt device.

A mic and AC can run ten times that much, so it is no wonder you are tripping fuses.

Anyhow, I used a simple Belkin strip here.

I got a large UPS for my mother's country house here, but I think its a bit overkill

edit: forgot the too
