Anyone ever turn in a claim for damaged computer equipment plugged into a Belkin surge protector?
A friend of my sister lost her mainboard, cpu, harddrive, and powersupply, according to an estimate bid the local computer shop made on her system, same place she bought it. When she found out the estimated damage was approximately the amount of her homeowners deductble, she asked me to look at it, and, that's when I discovered she had a Belkin surge protector, with a $ 20,000 limit equipment warranty. She has her original invoice, and the written estimate from the computer shop from where she bought the computer, and, she even has the Belkin empty box the surge protector came in, so, I'm going to call Belkin claims department on Wednesday and see if she can collect anything.
