In the video he said that he was scared of getting swept into 'the rocks,' while in the article he says that these big wave rides are very carefully planned... 😕

How much can you really plan out riding a 100 foot wall of water? There are more unknowns and uncontrollable variables than there are the opposit.

No one can call that guy a pussy. Ever. That's right up there with attacking a full grown polar bear in the face with a Swiss Army knife.

Shit, 40ft waves are rough enough to deal with when I'm in a boat, doing more than double that, just on a piece of fiberglass? Gtfo.

Is he wearing a BCD? I figure he needs help with bouyancy, what with all the BRASS weighing him down...

cortes bank... same size waves, no beach to crash into.

What kind of local flavor lives in those waters though?

I was using the reef off of the Keys to catch waves in front of tropical storms back in the day. That all stopped when a couple of bull sharks cruised by and checked me out one day.

Nope!

Hoe does the size of the wave effect the difficulty? Is it harder to balance the longer you're on the wave?

in the pic what are the people standing on? a old castle rampart?

I believe it is a chapel. We never went up there though.

I used to surf, biggest wave I ever surfed was slightly overhead though. These guys have to be towed into the wave by a jet ski because it is not possible to paddle to catch a wave this big.

This. Pushing yourself over the edge of even an 8 foot wall is intimidating. I was out on a 15 foot day, biggest wave I've ridden was probably a legitimate 12-13'. Scary as shit. Takes a lot of nerve to decide to go
