surface pro questions

I just got a surface pro and touch keyboard 2 for it... works great.

I cannot seem to alt f4 in metro UI, or in the OS is that normal?

Also, how does one upgrade the firmware on these? I have the downloaded pack,but I don't see how to actually update the firmware. Also, is there a cumulative firmware update pack, or just the latest feb will do?

I also notice a slight electrical hum from the laptop,not a fan noise, but just an electrical hum. I find it odd, my ipad doesn't do it, so just curious if it is normal.

i have surface 2 pro but the alt f4 works, do you have function lock on or you have to hit alt function f4 ?

I think Function + esc makes it function lock.. I dont have mine with me

ok with function lock, function esc, I was able to alt ft in both metro and desktop

I tried Fn +ESC, nothing seemed to happened...tried it, then alt f4, app stayed open. Tried a metro app and something outside of metro ui, nothing seems to happen when I hit alt f4 still.

It surprises me there is no pop up when I hit Fn ESC even, but I do get a little pop up when I lower volume and stuff.

So Alt+F4 isn't working in the desktop UI either? That's strange. You may need to nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

Probably a good idea, I have a new surface coming from MS anyhow ... first one came with a dead pixel... i'll test ALT F4 right away on that one.

That is weird, sorry i can't be more of a help. I think function space bar is print screen.. forgot.. its all weird without all the keys

right outta the box, didn't ALT F4 for me either!

out of the box, the keyboard does not have the function lock on, so try the alt + function + f4

I was wrong, function lock is function + caps lock, my other system was function esc (Lenovo x240/yoga)
