So I bought the Surface 3.
Should be here soon.
Me too! Got it as Father's Day/Birthday gift from wife and kids. I had been looking at something more portable than my Asus G73JH I've had over 5 years now. (10lb+ laptop).
I am using it to connect to work cloud computer via VM Ware, and have also hooked up a USB3.0 dock (not microsofts) and running two monitors and my surface monitor when at home. I have anime or sports going on the surface and work stuff on the monitors and full keyboard/mouse to dock.
I use tablet mode on a pillow watching TV in the living room (without keyboard attached), and then throw to the TV via the wifi adapter I got at time of purchase anything I want to stream, which is mainly just youtube. Well, I do hook my xbox one controller up and play Halo Spartan Assault on my TV.
Speaking of gaming, I have played CS:GO successfully and that's about all I've tried outside Halo Spartan app. Worked well playing 1024x768 getting about 50 FPS. I still have my big G73JH though that I can play on at home, but on the go (aka hotel) it worked good.
I am really happy with the purchase and looking forward to what else it will do when Win10 comes out. I am not disappointed in getting the Surface 3 over the Surface 3 Pro at all. (saved about $300). I really like the 10" screen over the 12" screen and the weight in my bag. It isn't noticed at all.
Oh, forgot to mention I did get a 64Gb mem card and have put about 30 movies on it and the rest music. It is my media storage. I have about 65GB free on the 128GB model, and am utilizing the 1TB of one drive space with office 365 (1 year free) that people sometimes forget about. I can't really comment on the digitizer because I haven't used it, but it is in my bag. I've only had it a week and I'm still trying to figure things out. (I did bust out the keyboard though to type this reply while watching ESPN)
*edit: Also, forgot to mention my wife has a MacBook air 2013 model, and I like this better than that. Having the touch screen in this small package makes a difference. I don't have all the apps she has, but with my work and gaming habits in Windows, it is just easy transition for me. I do sync my iPhone to her computer though. One Drive has been a lot easier to use over iCloud as well...at least my limited experience with both.
