Damnit, some of us have real jobs and have to show up for them. I can't be going to Fry's in hopes of winning.
Good luck for those who are going.

Lets see, San Diego was 71 miles, 1500 people showed up, 50 sets given out, making it about a 3% chance of winning.

LA is 62 miles way, I'd have to drive THROUGH LA to get there, probably a 2 hour drive even at that time of the morning, 3% chance of winning, probably get mugged, shot or carjacked...........

Don't thing I'll be going..........

Why couldn't they have had it at the Fry's in fountain valley ?

Good, now all the LA people can stop whining and moaning about this giveaway having not yet come to their city.

Had a relative go to the one in San Diego, came up empty handed of course (luck in our family sucks donkey).

So they're just giving away processors at this point, correct? And 2 gaming machines I believe..

And dang Akuma.. doesn't it get pricey living next to a Fry's? Always tempted to buy buy buy.. :)

Mockmaw,

They are giving away 50 mobo/cpu/memory combos and 1 high-end gaming system (can't remember specifics on that, but it had RAID). Maybe if you don't win that stuff you might be lucky enough to win a black AMD T-shirt or aluminum thermo mug. I know I got squat at the San Diego event.

Later today I will be going to Vegas for Comdex. So I won't be playing the game of attempting to be the first to post where the next XPP event is held. Honestly, IMHO, the whole thing is laughable and somehow on the last event I was allowed to play the contest twice. It was not my intent.

There are four more events/on-line contests to go. One will be in Baltimore, another in Raleigh-Durham, and then out west in Portland and Silcon Valley. I assume the schedule will follow the SOP of AMD and the next event will show up on the west and then follow up back east.

For the last couple of day, clicking on either board link on NOTES FROM THE ROAD shows a HTTP message. Does anyone know what going on?

Two of us went to the San Diego event, and like you got nothing. We watched as several people walked away with CPU/motherboard/memory combo + a t-shirt + a nice AMD stainless travel mug. I didn't that that was a very fair way to run a giveaway.
