Supreme Commander Errors After New Card Installed

Alright, I bought a 7900GT KO Superclocked back in April last year but it had a faulty SKU causing massive Artifacting. I sent it in for replacement last month when the card finally melted. I received the replacement a few days ago but there were some changes from my old one to this new one.

Anyways, I had the Drivers from my old 7900GT on my computer so I used the newest one I had and updated my new card to that Driver. There was some minor things here and there that weren't right but those can be fixed when I come to them later.

Now to the problem.

Yesterday I played Supreme Commander for about an hour in the morning before I had to go to town. When I got back I tried to start it up but I got this Error Message:
"A required security module can not be activated. This program can not be executed".

After an hour of browsing Forums for a solution I just decided to Restart my computer and see what happens. When I got it back on and started it up, it worked. However, when it got to the Menu, this is what I saw:

After I shut it down and tried to restart it, I got the same Error Message again. After that, the only thing I could think of would be to Un-install, but to no avail, un-installing did not fix it.

Any help for this problem will be greatly appreciated as I can play every other game just fine except for Supreme Commander.

Lastly, I do own the game so it isn't a glitch due to piracy of the game.

I'm not sure about your issue - but as a beta tester, i saw that a lot of people i played with had performance and bug issue when using sound blaster audio cards. You might want to reinstall those drivers if all else fails.

Good luck. I am one of the MANY people unable to even play the game due to performance issues. Luckily I was able to return the game.

I can play it just fine, it is the damn Text being pure blocks that is keeping me from playing it. When you can't read anything, it makes the game VERY un-playable.

I am open to all suggestions.

A64 3200, 1.5GB, X850.

Any map larger than the smallest one (10x10 I think) would run at 6-8FPS. While the rig is not the greatest, it does exceed the requirements. I posted on the forums asking for help, and everyone there agreed that it was a technical issue.

I'd say you've got another faulty card, have you tried any other games?

I have played many other games already. Those include: Titan Quest Immortal Throne, Warhammer 40k Dark Crusade, Neverwinter Nights 2, F.E.A.R Extraction Point, Half Life 2 Episode 1, and Diablo 2 LoD.

As far as I can tell, the problem only occurs with Supreme Commander. But like I said before, it was playing just fine in the morning but started glitching when I got home.

I have the *exact* same system as you and I can run all maps up to 20x20 playably. It's on low on 1920x1200, mind you, but performance is absolutely fine. You obviously tried to play with too stressful settings.

And you are obviously retarded. I was playing with the absolute LOWEST settings that you could set in SC. Just because it runs fine on your system does not mean it runs fine on anyone elses. Good god you are a moron.

I tried playing it with an A64 3400+, 1GB, X800xl - right from the beginning there isn't really so much of an fps-lag, it just takes a split second too long before any unit complies with its orders. Like : 'Construction-bot-thing, go there ->' - 'finite-time-unit-of-supreme-annoyance' - 'unit moving'. Retuurned. Not (so much) fps-lag, not mouse-cursor-lag, just the unit-movement-thing.

Well, his post might indicate that there is something on your computer that is affecting your performance. Does anyone else here have a similar system and can run the game well?

If the hardware is the same and yet your machine runs it worse than his there is definitely something wrong with your machine. The chances of you being the moron here are much higher than his from both of your statements.

:( You don't have to be mean about it. It could be an issue with your system in particular, but you don't have to yell at him.
EDIT: And I agree with the above post. You are the higher level of 'moron' in this situation.

When SC runs like that on a clean, up to date installation of Windows it indicates that there is a problem with the code, not the system. I tried the tweaks available (hardware acceleration, disabling/removing the sound card, etc) with no result. Blaming it on my hardware is ridiculous.
