Supreme Commander Beta - Need fileplanet sub :(

I'm so excited about this game. TA was one of the best games of all time in my opinion.

It looks like there is a beta for Supreme Commander out, but you have to be a PAYING SUBSCRIBER on fileplanet to get it. Sigh.
Just an FYI to anyone who has a subscription I guess. I hope they open it up to everyone soon 🙁
 
i signed up. they said all the closed beta slots are closed atm however they will release more soon and i got a secured spot in it 😀. now all i have to do is wait till they give me the cd key and the client
 
Yea, I saw this yesterday. I DL the beta in prep for the key....but then they accounded that it was subscription only. 🙁

Bummer. Ah well, it's ok. They game is coming.

P.S. - We're trying to get Chris Taylor on the show. I dont want to promise anything, but it's looking very promising! 😀 😀

Ok nevermind, but it probably needs some sort of activation key from fileplanet to install.
 
The beta and crack are on the pirate bay. Because this is not commercial software, i do not believe it is technically stealing. Besides, there is no good moral reason to pay fileplanet for this, it's not like they made the game.

So I can just walk into a movie theatre and watch a movie without paying? It's not like they made the movie.

What about taking something from Wal-mart, it's not like they make all of the products they sell.

Fileplanet obviously has an agreement with whoever made this game to distribute the beta, circumventing this is tantamount to theft.

The difference is the people who test these products are paid to do it, but with software, it's possible to get people to do it for free. Now they are asking the fans to pay once for the buggy beta test and once for the game itself? No thanks. I suggest no-one buys this beta.

They aren't making fans to pay for anything. If you so choose, you can pay for it.
 
FP is a service. you can get the free service, or you can pay for VIP service - getting you closed betas, early demos, priority/high-bandwidth downloads, etc. etc.

atheus' comment was indeed stupid - it will come to no surprise if he gets the boot.

at any rate, i can certainly wait for a demo of SC, as i suspect one will come out at some point in time. plus, i like playing single player and this is an MP only demo, yes? i get pwned online🙂

The demo is supposed to be coming out alongside the retail game.
 
Anyone running dual monitors and have them working in the beta?
My options say "Secondary Display", but then there is nothing to select (running 2 identical monitors from 7800GT)
