Supposed MacBook Pro redesign

Yeah...my Dock is like a mile long. I'd have to scroll for 10 seconds to get to the program I wanted lol.

And what about us Side Dockers? If the trackpad is a touch screen, one would certainly hope that you could move the dock. And how would one differentiate between a mouse click, a mouse move, a dock select, a scroll... any of those things. Would you be able to add things to the dock by dragging it from one screen to the other?

I do not know how I would fix these issues, but Apple has been known to do some crazy cool things before. Honestly, even without the touchscreen trackpad, I would go for a MacBook that was designed that way.

I can't seem to grasp how having a touchscreen trackpad would be useful. You have a 15" screen right in front of you.. so why would you look at a 3" screen by your keyboard? I just don't understand why people like this concept? Other than that.. seems like a solid concept.

I hope that's not true. I hate this dual tone crap. First saw it on the canon cameras.. then the imacs... don't bog down the macbook/pros too now

I really want to see a new MacBook that is available in the iPod Nano colors.

Or maybe Apple is making a NetBook (which are all the rage these days apparently) the MacBook Nano, and it will be in the colors...

Mostly I just want a bright orange aluminum laptop, or maybe neon green. And although Dell has the different colored lids (and doesn't run OS X, so no thanks anyway 🙂 ) I want it all to be bright, blind-you-in-the-eye, can-be-seen-from space, skittle orange

That would be great! I'd love to have a bright colored laptop that was aluminum. Maybe even have some of the curved Air edges. 😀

A new photograph claiming to be the new MacBook Pro has been circulating since yesterday. We've neglected to post the image since we felt it was clearly fake. Based on his sources, Jason O'Grady now confirms that the image isn't real and also provides some additional tidbits about the upcoming MacBook Pros.

O'Grady has heard that the new MacBook Pros will retain its more traditional boxy-look and not adopt the tapered edge design of the MacBook Air. We're not sure if that completely correlates with the previously leaked MacBook Pro image that does seem to depict a tapered edge. O'Grady also believes the new MacBook Pro will be thinner and "as much as a half-inch narrower" than existing models. The space savings will reportedly come from a smaller bezel (border) around the screen.

Other details spotted in early prototypes: black "flat top" keyboard like the MacBook Air, slightly smaller trackpad than existing MacBook Pros, and even a split trackpad with two buttons. O'Grady warns that Apple may build multiple prototypes and all these features may not make it to production machines.

In addition, O'Grady claims the incorporation of "full Multi-Touch support" in the new trackpads. At present, the capabilities of the current MacBook Pro trackpad offer basic Multi-Touch support but are limited to a few gestures per application. What "full" support means remains to be seen, but Apple has researched many options.

Well it's official - they're ruining the keyboard. I'm glad I went with a Thinkpad :/

Thank god for choice huh? I personally love the chiclet keyboard, but it isn't for everyone.

Yea.. I think they should offer both. It's not such a huge deal that it would effect production IMO.

This is all still speculation, of course.

I, like TheStu, prefer the chiclet keyboard that is on the MacBooks and MacBook Air. So I do hope that they change that on the newer model.

A chicklet keyboard on a MacBook Pro will CAUSE THE WORLD TO SELF-DESTRUCT DUE TO THE MASSIVE AMOUNT OF EPIC FAIL. Seriously, so much fail, the world will end.

END I TELL YOU!!!! END!!!!

Personally, I can't stand the current MBP keyboard, way too soft for my taste. Having owned a T41 and an X60 and their excellent KB's, I still prefer the Apple chicklet keyboard over both of them.

To each his own I suppose.

Why won't they ever add a numpad like on many 17" notebooks?

Steve jobs hates buttons.

Why else does he wear turtlenecks and not a regular button up shirt like most? I think you might be onto something Kaido.
