so this kind of relates to the previous beheadings that has occured a while back. Almost in every situation, the U.S has never done any of the requests that the insurgents wanted. The insurgents in return, beheaded the hostages.

I mean, suppose the insurgents held someone of high power hostage, such as someone from the whitehouse, or maybe a close relative of someone in the administration.....do you think the U.S would react differently?
 
They'd negotiate, and hunt them down relentlessly to the ends of the earth after the hostage was safe.

And then the families of the previously beheaded victims would feel like doing some beheading of their own to those who negotiated with the kidnappers. Probably. 😉
