Is that good or bad?
On one hand I am glad to see that new technology is on horizon. On the other hand I am concerned that government backing is necessary for this to happen. Have we reached a point where building a fab is like sending a man on the moon, something only the government can afford. That will be a sad day IMO.

Fabs cost 1 Billion plus dollars to construct. The companie can still afford to pay for them, but they try to get incentives to do so since a fab can provide so many jobs.
