Support for a new HTPC forum?

Please respone with comment in support of or against a new forum for discussion about Home Theater PC's (HTPC). I would like a new forum where we can discuss parts, configurations, software, and ideas as it relates to he up and coming HTPC field.

SFF fits the bill quite nicely I think.

And anything not covered by SSF is covered by the other forums.

Not really, we have really just begun to scratch the surface of HTPC applications. I think a seperate forum would be nice so that we can discuss possible applications and ideas as well... It is not adequate to search forums for appropriate topics. But hey, maybe I'm just more into HTPCs than the average AnandTech member... it was just an idea....

Long as there was lots of mythtv topics...

Although I am able to find everything i need via google and mythtv forums for my past issues.

It would be nice as it would encompass hardware and software for HTPC's but I doubt it will happen.

Your not getting a HTPC forum, until there is a separate software forum!!

I think having it's own forum is a great idea. I've found threads about PVR vs AIW in three different forums, each with different people opinining. Having them all in one place would be quite helpful.

I agree it would be nice to have an HTPC forum -- and possibly a 'consumer electronics' (or just 'audio-video consumer electronics') forum as well (maybe they could fit into one forum; I'm not sure). Right now, questions about video capture, video encoding, HTPC-specific software and hardware, etc. have nowhere to go but into Video and General Hardware and sometimes Software (which all have more than enough crap already).

But if any forum changes are going to happen, splitting up the giant mess that is currently Software would be a good first step.
